A Collect for Humility and Wisdom
'Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.”' - Luke 11:1 (ESV)
O God, who listens and who willingly teaches those who lack knowledge, let us never be so proud that we believe it no longer necessary to learn from you or from others, that we might recognize our humble state and reach out to you for ever greater wisdom, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us the wisdom of the Father and teaches us still through the Holy Spirit. Amen.
