Merciful One, who does not rejoice at the destruction of your enemies, but desires that all would join you around the table of family, do not allow us to live perpetually in anger with those who seem against us, but grant us compassion and a desire to see them as your beloved children, that when all bow their knee before you, it might be as brothers and sisters, through Jesus Christ our Savior, who lives in perfect unity with you and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
"Then the Lord said, 'You had compassion on the plant for which you did not work and which you did not cause to grow, which came up overnight and perished overnight. Should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know the difference between their right and left hand, as well as many animals?'" - Jonah 4:10-11
