A Collect for Detachment

Father of life, who is the source of our being, keep us from clinging so tightly to our lives that we lose the real life you offer. Grow in us attachments to you and your will, that when our lives are lost, we will find something greater awaiting us in your hand, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who willingly laid down his life and received from you and the Holy Spirit honor and glory. Amen.
