A Collect for Humility

All-Seeing Father, who knows what is in our hearts, even if we do not, teach us to be humble, and to acknowledge that there are things about ourselves that we may not see, that we might not believe ourselves to be more than we are, but to always receive from you what we need, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who humbled himself and returned to you and the Holy Spirit in glory. Amen.

'Jesus said, "I came into this world for judgment so that those who do not see may see, and those who do see may become blind." Some of the Pharisees near him heard this and said to him, "Surely we are not blind, are we?" Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would not have sin. But now that you say, 'We see,' your sin remains.' - John 9:39-41
