A Collect for Pentecost

Almighty God, who has declared the end from the beginning, may we receive your Spirit, which you have poured out into those who have turned to you for hope, that we would be empowered to see those things which you need us to see and declare to the world those things you need it to hear, and we would be made effective servants for a loving master, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

"This is what was spoken through the prophet Joel: 'In the last days it will be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
