A Lenten Collect to Follow Jesus

Lord Jesus Christ, firstborn of God's creation, you have gone before us to show us the way to the Father. Quicken our hearts to follow in your footsteps, that we would become more and more like you, humble in holiness and connected to the one who loves us most, through you who lives and reigns in glory with the Father and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Is Jesus calling you to follow in his footsteps in any particular way right now? How are you reacting to that calling or lack of calling? Are you anxious? Eager? Reluctant? Indifferent? Relieved? Defeated? Many things all at once? What do you need from Jesus to take those next steps or to work with not seeing where he is leading?
