A Lenten Collect to Walk with God and Be Blameless

Lord Almighty, who covenants with your people, teach us to walk blamelessly on this earth as we connect with you and your ways, that in relationship with you, we would find ourselves being free to turn from our broken ways of satisfying our needs and to love and be part of the perfect relationship you have with the Son and Holy Spirit that you desire with the whole creation, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. ‘When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless.”‘ – Gen. 17:1 How often are you inclined to attempt to do the right thing on your own? What would it be like to try to do right while connected to God and in relationship with him and not merely through your own willpower? What do you need from God in order to be connected with him more fully?
